Where to Shop in North Bridge Road & Stamford Road
Positioned north of the Singapore River, the North Bridge-Stamford Road intersection is home to some of Singapore’s most prominent landmarks and architecturally arresting buildings restored from the turn of the last century. Many department stores, such as The Capitol Building, Stamford House and Raffles Shopping Arcade, are set inside elegant Victorian buildings and are attractions in themselves. Slightly north, at the corner of Rochor Canal Rd. and Bencoolen St., Sim Lim Square has six floors dedicated to IT gadgets.

Capitol Building
From the Funan Mall, cut across Coleman Street in the direction of Stamford Road. Once a popular cinema theatre standing at the corner of North Bridge Road and Stamford Road diagonally across from Raffles City Shopping Centre, Capitol Building has been handsomely preserved. It is now the home to selected local fashion boutiques, Campers’ Corner for trekking and adventure gear as well as cybercafés and food outlets.

Funan The IT Mall
From The Adelphi, stride along the second floor pedestrian bridge to Funan Centre – seven floors of computer hardware, software, accessories and other electronic gadgets as well as sportswear, jewelry and luggage shops. Visitors are assured of its reputation for reliability and competitive prices in town. Retail names like Harvey Norman, Challenger, Lenovo, Samsung, Vaio, Futjitsu and more are located here.

Stamford House
Built at the turn of the century, this elegantly-restored Victorian building has a colourful historical past as a hotel before it became a retail haven.
